Guide
How to see which outlets covered a story
Tokos groups articles about the same event into one story card. Here is how to see who covered it, and when.
On the Tokos homepage
- Open tokos.news. Each story card shows how many sources covered it.
- Tap the card to open it. You see the list of outlets, each with a link to its own article.
- Tap an outlet’s link to read its article on its own site.
On the data page
- Open the data page (tokos.news/data). The top chart, “How a story spreads”, shows one of the week’s biggest stories.
- Each dot is one article, placed at the time the outlet published it. Tap a dot to open the article.
- Use the arrows, or “Pick a story”, to see the other big stories of the week.
- Tap “Table view” for the same thing as a list: outlet, country, time and link.
Every big story has its own page
Stories covered by 8 outlets or more get a page that stays online, with a short summary, the chart and the full list. You find them under “Biggest stories” on the data page.
Keep the list
Signed in, tap “Follow” on a story to find it again in My data, and download it as a file you can open in Excel.
Good to know: we read each outlet’s public news feed about every two hours, so a time can trail the real publication a little.
